When you actually google "hot honey donut", there are actually only 2 such recipes TOTAL on the internet!
That's right...only 2 recipes on the entire internet and definitely not ANY that are sugar-free or gluten-free!
So, not only is this a completely unique and creative recipe, but this keto donut recipe will is also so good that it will satisfy your Dunkin donuts, Krispy Kreme, or any other donut chain cravings!

THE INGREDIENTS IN GLUTEN FREE DONUTS
Almond flour– Use blanched almond flour, as it provides a fluffier and lighter texture, perfect for low-carb donuts! While almond meal will also work, the texture will be a little heavier.
Coconut flour - Coconut flour is a very absorbent flour and helps to soak up some of the hot honey syrup. If you don't have any coconut flour, you can replace it with more almond flour but you will need to double the amount.
Granulated sweetener– I’ve tried this with both erythritol and monk fruit sweeteners, and both work very well. You can use brown sugar substitute or white.
Baking soda– Gives the donuts some rise and fluffiness.
Eggs– Be sure the eggs are at room temperature. I haven’t tried this with a flax egg or egg substitute.
Apple Cider Vinegar– Works with baking soda to puff up the donuts.
Sugar-Free Hot Honey - You can't make these donuts without this ingredient! You can either use my Homemade Sugar-Free Hot Honey Syrup or my "cheater" easier Hot Honey recipe
Salt, Cinnamon and Vanilla Extract - These ingredients help to round out the flavours of the doughnuts.
INGREDIENTS IN THE HOT HONEY GLAZE

GLUTEN FREE BAKED DONUTS RECIPE
Baking donuts instead of frying them make them much easier to make. No hot oil or greasy mess to clean up when these donuts are done!
Also, I have made this recipe to use only 1 bowl so that also means that there is very little clean-up!
- Add the wet ingredients to the bowl and whisk until all the ingredients have been incorporated
- Whisk in the dry ingredients making sure that there are no clumps remaining
- Pour the ingredients evenly into each doughnut well.
- Bake the donuts for 12-15 minutes, until light golden brown.
- While the donuts are baking, make the glaze by melting the sugar-free white chocolate chips, powdered sweetener, cinnamon and sugar-free hot honey together in a small microwaveable bowl
- After the donuts have cooled, dip or carefully pour the topping on to each donut
- OPTIONAL - While the glaze is still warm, sprinkle any additional ingredients such as crushed nuts, sugar-free sprinkles or bacon crumbles over the tops of the donuts.

Can I make these low carb donuts as muffins?
These low-carb keto donuts can easily be made as muffins. The preparation and instructions remain the same, simply grease a 12-count muffin tin or line with muffin liners and bake for 12-15 minutes.
Keto Doughnuts Tips
- Donut pans are all different sizes - if you have too much batter, simply pour it into a small glass baking dish
- Do not overbake the donuts, as they continue to bake in the pan while they cool.
- If you choose to frost the donuts, they should be at room temperature before doing so. Warm donuts will see the frosting melt off and chilled donuts will see the frosting become still and hardened.

Storing and Freezing Keto Doughnuts
- To store: Leftover donuts can keep at room temperature provided they are eaten within 3 days. If you’d like to keep them longer, store them in the refrigerator.
- To freeze: Place donuts in a freezer friendly container or ziplock bag. The donuts can be frozen for up to 6 months.
