Fact or fiction?
You can make whipping cream simply in a jar just using a cold mason jar? This recipe proves that sometimes the simpliest ingredients can produce the most delicious and simple recipes!
FACT!
A while ago, I saw a post from Life Hacks that stated that you could make perfect whipping cream using only a mason jar.
WHAT?!!!
Just like my Keto Candied Bacon with a "Fact or Fiction" Experiment, I knew I had to give this a shot.
According to the post, all you have to do is simply place a mason jar in the freezer to get it nice and cold. Next, you add about 1 cup of heavy cream into the jar, screw on the lid and shake the jar. That's it!
So, off I went to find a mason jar. I was unsure of what size to use so I opted to double the size of the jar in comparison to the amount of whipping cream I was going to use. I placed it in the freezer for about 15 minutes to let it get nice and cold.
When the jar had cooled, I poured the whipping cream in the jar, sealed the jar and set a timer to see how long it would take.
In under 2 minutes, I had a jar full of light and fluffy whipped cream!!!
So, can you make Whipping Cream in a Jar?
Yes, you can absolutely make whipping cream by simply shaking a cold mason jar full of heavy cream.
When Mr. Grumbles got home that night after work, I was super excited to tell him about my experiment. His response was "Why would you want to make whipping cream in a mason jar in the first place?"
His question somewhat deflated my excitement and he was right...why would you try this in the first place?
Here are some of the reasons why you would make Whipping Cream in a Jar:
- You are curious like myself and what to know whether or not the internet is lying to you
- You decide to go camping and you only have whipping cream and a mason jar in your ice filled cooler and have no power to plug in your mixer
- You want to get a really good arm work out
- The violence and noise of a hand mixer brings about an emotion filled with anxiety
- Your hand mixer dies right before you need whipped cream
- You get stranded on an island with only a freezer, heavy cream, a mason jar and no other appliances
So although these may be a little far fetched and you may never use this method of making whipped cream, at least you know that you can!![]()
