These are the Best Air Fryer French Fries you will ever make. Crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside, you have got to try making these tonight!
If you ever get the chance to try my mum's homemade french fries, I am sure that you too, would declare them as "The Best".
But, since my mum lives in Quebec, way out in the country, your chances of trying her fries are slim to none!
With that being said, I decided to share with you her tips and tricks to making this delicious treat.
Do you need an air fryer?
Absolutely not but it does make cooking things a lot easier.
Let me name off a few reasons why I love my air fryer :
- easy to use
- easy to clean
- I don't have to turn my oven on and heat up my whole house
- perfect for a small family
- Set it, forget it and walk away (I am the QUEEN of multitasking and this is a BIG feature for me!)
I could keep going on but I am assuming you get my point.
Now, if you don't own an air fryer, then just simply follow the recipe and place your fries in the oven. They will take a little longer and you will have to turn them halfway through but they will still be as delicious.
So, what differentiates these fries from all the other french fry recipes on the web?
Water, salt and baking powder.
Believe it or not, simply soaking your fries in a baking powder and salt solution makes all the difference in the world.
Why do you ask?
Honestly, I don't know but if you just trust me and try this recipe, I am sure you will be amazed by the results.
Just look at these french fries...crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! If this picture does not convince you to try this recipe today, then I don't know what will!
PS - I use a fry cutter (Thanks for the Christmas present Mum and Dad!) to get all my fries to be the same size. This is fairly important to allow the fries to cook evenly.

OMG! Thanks for catching that! It should absolutely be baking powder. However, if you don't have any, just soaking the fries in water for 15-30 minutes makes ALL the difference for making incredible fries!

Should the ingredients list say baking Powder instead of Soda? It says powder everywhere else.
Thanks.
