The simple addition of baking powder creates a crispy outer crust with a soft inside.  Insanely delicious!

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium potatoes, cut into strips (I use a fry cutter to make it easier on myself)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • water
  • olive oil

Instructions

  1. Clean and wash potatoes.  Using a sharp knife or a fry cutter, cut potatoes into even strips
  2. Place potatoes in a large bowl and cover them with water
  3. Add salt and baking powder to the water and mix
  4. Let sit at room temperature for 1 or more hours
  5. Drain water, spray air fryer with olive oil and place fries in fryer.   Drizzle 1 tbsp of olive oil over fries.
  6. Fry at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes, shaking pan every 10 minutes
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Although I have not tried it yet, I am sure you could make these in the oven using the same temperature and time guidelines.
