Edible High Protein Cookie Dough
This edible high protein cookie dough is hands down one of the most delicious recipes to make. It’s healthy enough to be a snack or even a meal replacement, it’s low in sugar and allows me to not feel guilty about eating raw cookie dough by the spoonful!
An easy, healthy edible cookie dough that you can customize with all your favourite mix-ins -- from sugar-free chocolate chips, to candied nuts, or even a drizzle of keto homemade fudge sauce. Just the right texture that you will never guess that this healthy protein cookie dough is not the real thing!
I love how this recipe is so easy to make. You only need 4 main ingredients and then some optional add-ins depending on what cookie dough flavour you are craving. Plus, since it is chock-full of protein, this recipe can even be considered a PSMF cookie dough recipe! (If you do not know what PSMF means, check out this post for more information)
Why I love this high protein cookie dough
This is one of those recipes that never lets you down. The dough has primarily vanilla protein powder, so this edible high protein cookie dough is perfectly chewy and dense. It’s very versatile and can handle all kinds of mix-ins as well as any type of flavours.
This edible high protein cookie dough is also made with common ingredients that most bakers have in their kitchen at all times, so it’s one you can whip up without a ton of planning or preparation (a huge plus).

Healthy Edible Cookie Dough Ingredients
Below, you will see all the ingredients you will need to make this PSMF cookie dough. I have also included substitutions wherever possible. Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see how you can change the macros of this PSFM cookie dough into a higher fat, keto-friendly version.
- Protein Powder - You will need some vanilla protein powder. I LOVE to use Nutricost Vanilla Casein but any mixed vanilla protein powder or plant-based protein powder will work. I DO NOT suggest using only pure 100% whey or beef protein powder as the cookie dough will end up VERY sticky.
- Almond flour – I haven’t used another flour here. You can likely have success with gluten-free oat flour or gluten-free flour but you’d need to use a bit less.
- Almond Milk – I like to use unsweetened almond milk but you can also use another neutral oil like avocado oil or coconut milk instead.
- Sugar-free Syrup – You can use either sugar-free maple syrup, sugar-free honey or even sugar-free tapioca fiber syrup.
- Vanilla extract – I like to add some for a more pungent vanilla flavour
- Sugar-free Chocolate chips – I use Lily's dark chocolate here but you can use you preferred chocolate!

How to Make High Protein Cookie Dough
This healthy edible cookie dough recipe comes together in under 5 minutes!
Step 1 - Blend the wet ingredients
- In a high speed blender, add the cottage cheese, almond milk, vanilla and sugar-free syrup
- Blend until no lumps remain

Step 2 - Add in the dry ingredients
- Add the protein powder and almond flour
- Stir until the ingredients are combined (Note: If the mixture is too dry, simply add 1 tablespoon at a time of water until the desired consistency is met. If the mixture is too wet, add additional protein powder)

Step 3 - Fold in the chocolate chips
- Add the sugar-free chocolate chips and stir until they are scattered throughout the dough.

- Taste the mixture and add additional sugar-free sweetener and salt to taste.
Other ingredients you can use to make this cookie dough
Here are a few modifications that are easy to make so that your healthy edible cookie dough fits into any diet!
- For a higher fat cookie dough - Add some peanut butter, avocado oil or almond butter. You can also use heavy cream instead of almond milk and the cottage cheese. Lastly, use more almond flour and less protein powder.
- For an even HIGHER PSMF cookie dough - Omit the almond flour and only use protein powder. You can also add additional almond milk which will require even more protein powder to absorb the milk.
