When I did some research online for Cream Cheese Frosting recipes, I was floored to see that most recipes called for 4 cups of powdered sugar!!!
That is A LOT of sugar and an unnecessary amount to say the least.
I don't know about you, but although I love frosting, I also want to be able to taste the actual baked item that is under the frosting.
If your tongue first touches the frosting that contains copious amounts of sugar, I don't think you would be able to taste the delicate flavours of the baked good.
My Sugar-Free Cream Cheese Frosting only uses 1 cup of Swerve Confectioner sugar.
By reducing the amount of sugar, the natural mild taste of the cream cheese comes out perfectly.
I have been experimenting a lot with different types of cupcake recipes which all yet to come. This Sugar-Free Cream Cheese Frosting has been really easy to use, simple to make and has complimented every flavour to date!

You can store the frosting for 2 weeks in the fridge and allow it to warm at room temperature slightly before using.
Final Thoughts:
- make sure that your butter and cream cheese are at room temperature. If not, carefully microwave them at 20 second intervals until they have softened.
- Any regular or sugar-free sugar and be converted into a "powdered" form by simply placing the sugar in a high speed blender and turning it on until the desired consistency is achieved.
- You can easily add any type of extract to the frosting to achieve a different flavour but do not eliminate the vanilla. Add the extract in ⅛ teaspoon increments until the desired taste is achieved.
