I recently tried the Diet Direct Keto Products. Known for their easy, convenient and keto-friendly foods, Diet Direct has launched a brand new line of keto diet foods. Here is my honest Diet Direct review on their keto packaged diet foods.
Diet Direct Review
Do you ever wish that there were more quick and easy keto diet products on the market? Sometimes I am so busy at work that I honestly don't have any time for eating. So, after googling and looking for cost-effective keto snacks on the web, I came across Diet Direct.
What is Diet Direct
Diet Direct is a diet company that offers customers a variety of weight loss programs and supplements to help them lose weight. Similar to Optavia, Diet Direct is the founder of the Wonderslim Diet Plan. Their weight loss and wellness plans are designed to help customers lose weight with high-protein foods.
Recently, Diet Direct introduced a new "Keto" line of products. From shakes to smoothies, soups to snack bars and chips, the selection of keto "grab and go" food items peaked my interest.
And although I LOVE to cook and bake, I also sometimes wish that I had some prepackaged keto food for those really busy days.
Since there prices are definitely fair, I decided to reach out to the company and try some of their keto products.
Here are some of the products I received and my honest opinion on their taste.
Are Diet Direct Products truly Keto?
This is honestly something that I am struggled with to figure out. Some of their labels are a little confusing so it is somewhat hard to figure out mathematically what the actual fat percentage is for each product. Take for example the cookies, the label lists 15 grams of carbs. Underneath the carbohydrate section, they have fiber listed twice:
Not quite sure why, but if you do substract both fibers, they each cookie comes in at about 75% fat which would make it keto-friendly.
However, their Keto Shakes can definitely NOT be considered keto friendly as they only come in at 50% fat which is not considered keto.
With that being said, I was still able to use their products as a base and then with some quick and simple additions, take their products and turn them into meals that are keto-friendly.
You will find below the products that I tried, what my honest opinion was of each product and then some basic additions to take the keto diet direct products and actually turn them into truly keto-friendly.

Keto Products by Diet Direct
Snackergy Sna-KETO Cookie - Variety Pack

Pros -
- Ingredients - Packed with MCT oil, collagen type I and III as well as probiotics, these cookies are definitely filled with quality ingredients.
- Size - These keto cookies were a very decent size and were packaged well. Perfect to stash in your purse or desk for when a cookie craving comes calling.
- High Fiber - Each cookie has over 9 grams of fiber which means that this cookie will keep you full between meals
- High Fat Content - Each cookie contains 15 grams of fat
- Texture - These keto cookies held together well and had the right texture for a cookie
Cons -
- Price - These keto cookies were a little higher priced then other keto cookies on the market. You only get a box of 5 cookies for $15 but they are currently on sale for about $10. At $2 or $3 a cookie, the price is higher then other keto cookies on the market.
- Taste - I found the taste of the cookies to be slightly bland. I didn't mind the peanut butter or the chocolate chip but really did not care for the chocolate cookie. They were not as sweet as I like my cookies to be. For some people who prefer less sweet keto snacks, these cookies would be perfect.
WonderFit Keto Shake - Variety Pack

Pros -
- Ingredients - Once again, they have loaded their keto shakes with high quality ingredients, including MCT oil, collagen and probiotics
- Size - These keto protein shakes only contain 90 calories per shake. I always add some frozen kale, some extra cocoa powder and a little sweetener to all my shakes so I found these to be quite filling.
- Good Quality Sweeteners - These keto shakes use monk fruit and stevia leaf extract as sweeteners which are definitely the best keto sweeteners on the market.
- Taste - I am a shake "snob" and I actually really liked the taste of these keto shakes. However, with that being said, I always use unsweetened almond milk and not water, I add some frozen kale, a little xanthan and some additional cocoa powder and sweetener.
Cons -
- Price - These keto shakes were a little higher priced then using keto protein powder sold in large tubs. You only get a box of 5 shake packs for $15 but they are currently on sale for about $10. At $2 or $3 for a pack of protein powder, you are better off buying a large tub of powder and making your own shakes.
- Fat Content - For a keto shake, I found the fat content to be on the lower side. With only 5 grams of fat per shake, they definitely do not qualify as keto. However, they are considered low carb as they only contain under 1 gram of carb per shake (if using water!)
WonderFit Keto Soup - Tortilla Flavour

Pros -
- Ingredients - Once again, they have loaded their soups with high quality ingredients, including MCT oil, collagen and probiotics
- Size - Each keto soup contains 26 vitamins & minerals and only 100 calories in each serving. The soup filled me up initially but I was hungry a couple of hours later. This is not a problem as Diet Direct encourages several small meals a day so you can eat another keto product when you get hungry.
- Taste - I will not tell you that this soup tastes as good as my Easy Homemade Keto Cream of Mushroom Soup Recipe or my Creamy Keto Zucchini Soup with Boursin Cheese, but with a little help, this soup is actually pretty good for coming from a dried packet. By simply adding some hot sauce and some heavy cream, this soup went from "ok" to "damn good"!
Cons -
- Price - This keto soup were a little costly for what you get. I would suggest buying some of their other low carb soups, such as the Diet Directs BariWise Cream of Broccoli which only contains 2 grams of net carbs.
- Fat Content - For a keto soup, the fat content was a little low. However, by simply adding in some heavy cream dnd a little melted butter, you can take this basic soup packet and load it with fat to fit your macros.
Keto Fruit Smoothies

Pros -
- Ingredients - Once again, they have loaded their keto shakes with high quality ingredients, including MCT oil, collagen and probiotics
- Size - Each keto protein shake only contain 90 calories per shake.
However, with that being said, I always use half unsweetened almond milk along with half heavy cream instead of water as well as adding a handful of frozen berries for a stronger berry flavour.
Cons -
- Price - These keto shakes were a little higher priced then using keto protein powder sold in large tubs.
However, they are considered low carb as they only contain under 1 gram of carb per shake (if using water!) And, if you want to increase the fat content of their shakes, simply add some heavy cream to help hit your fat macros!
How to Make Diet Direct Keto Products more "keto"
As I stated earlier, the Diet Direct products are not truly keto as they do not statisfy the keto requirements of a minimum of 70% fat.
However, with that being said, you can easily use their products as a base and add some simple ingredients to bring each product up to keto standards.
- For the cookies - You can simply slather on some Homemade Keto Cookie Butter, Keto Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Spread Recipe or some Keto Espresso Mascarpone Frosting to add some fat to each cookie.
- For the shakes - Add some heavy cream for a milkshake or heat the shake and add some coconut oil for a bulletproof keto hot cocoa.
- For the soups - For the tortilla soup, I add some cream cheese, cheddar cheese and some sour cream that quickly melted into the soup to create a creamier keto version.
Why try Diet Direct
Although I would not say that the Diet Direct Keto Products are "to die for", I do think that they serve a quick and convenient purpose in a keto diet. These keto packaged diet foods can help you keep on track when you are in a pinch. The keto products by diet direct not only offer convenience but also offer the right macros to keep you on your keto journey. Plus, with some simple additions such as heavy cream, olive oil or cream cheese, you can easily take their products and modify them ever so slightly to be more keto friendly.
Diet Direct Keto Products Review Summary
To summarize all the above, here are a list of pros and cons if you are considering using the Diet Direct Keto Products:
Pros:
- Convenient - Each meal only takes minutes to prepare so they are great when you are in a hurry
- Cost-effective - Although cooking keto recipes at home ends up being cheaper, Diet Direct keto products are fair in price when compared to other keto packaged diet foods
- Taste - There was not a product that I would say did not taste bad. However, I did feel that every product could be tweaked slightly to improve the overall taste.
Cons:
- High sodium - Like all prepackaged foods, the keto products by diet direct are pretty high in sodium
- Cost - Although they are fair in price to other prepackaged foods, they are still significantly more expensive than cooking at home or eating keto snacks like these Keto Spicy Maple Candied Nuts or these Keto Copycat Coconut Chocolate Chip Bars
TIP
If you are interested in trying any Diet Direct products, they are constantly offering various promos that run weekly in order to help with overall costs. With this in mind, many of the keto products that I tried and that are listed above can be purchased at a discounted rate.
