Keto Chocolate Cookies
There’s something magical about the combination of chocolate and mint—it’s rich, refreshing, and nostalgic all at once. These Keto Chocolate Mint Cookies are the perfect guilt-free treat that brings together everything I love about this timeless flavour pairing.
They’re thin with crispy edges and a chewy center (just like my Keto Crispy Thin Chocolate Chip Cookies - Sugar-Free Tate's Copycat Recipe), packed with fudgy cocoa flavour, and studded with a combo of sugar-free mint chocolate chips and sugar-free chocolate chips that melt just right.
The best part? They’re low-carb, keto-friendly, and ridiculously easy to make.
Chocolate and mint have always held a special place in my heart. Growing up in Canada, one of my favourite indulgences was the Laura Secord Frosted Mint bar—a creamy chocolate bar with a cool mint filling that was both decadent and refreshing.
It was the chocolate bar I’d reach for in corner stores or tuck into my backpack for a bus ride snack. Fast-forward to today, and while I follow a keto lifestyle, that craving for the chocolate-mint combo never really left me.
Enter these Keto Chocolate Mint Cookies—my way of recreating that nostalgic flavour in a healthier, sugar-free form. And let me tell you, these cookies are so good that they don’t feel like “diet food” at all. They’re the kind of treat you make for yourself but end up sharing because everyone else in the house keeps sneaking them off the cooling rack.

The Star Ingredient in this Easy Keto Cookie Recipe
Before I dive into the recipe, I have to rave about the ChocZero Sugar-Free Peppermint Chips (link here). These little minty gems are what take these cookies from “delicious” to “unforgettable.”
I’ll be honest—I don’t just bake with them. I eat them straight out of the bag. They’re creamy, refreshing, and perfectly sweet without the weird aftertaste some sugar-free products have.
Every time I pop one in my mouth, I’m reminded of that Laura Secord Frosted Mint bar from my childhood. Except now, I can enjoy them guilt-free! If you’ve been missing that indulgent chocolate-mint flavour on keto, these chips are the answer.
Ingredients for Keto Chocolate Mint Cookies
What I love most about this recipe is that it’s made with wholesome, keto-approved ingredients you probably already have in your pantry (plus the mint chips, of course). Here’s what you’ll need:
- Almond Flour – The backbone of keto baking. It gives the cookies a soft, tender crumb and keeps them gluten-free while still being hearty enough to hold together.
- Butter – Adds richness, flavour, and helps create that melt-in-your-mouth texture we all crave in a good cookie.
- Sweetener – I prefer a powdered erythritol or monk fruit blend for a smooth sweetness without any grittiness. It balances the cocoa and enhances the mint flavour.
- Cocoa Powder – Deep, rich, and chocolatey. Make sure to use unsweetened cocoa powder for a pure fudgy flavour.
- Egg – Provides structure and moisture, holding the dough together beautifully.
- ChocZero Sugar-Free Peppermint Chips – The star of the show! These melt into little pools of minty goodness and make every bite irresistible. If you can't get them, you can also break one of these Keto White Chocolate Peppermint bars into small chunks.

Do NOT Skip the Chill Time for these Keto Mint Cookies
Here’s a little baking truth: these cookies are sticky when they first come out of the oven. You might be tempted to eat them right away (and honestly, I don’t blame you), but giving them at least three hours in the fridge transforms them.
The flavours deepen, the mint becomes more pronounced, and the texture firms up into that fudgy, chewy consistency that makes them irresistible. It’s worth the wait—promise.

Customizing Your Keto Chocolate Mint Cookies
One of the best parts about this recipe is how flexible it is. Once you have the base down, you can tweak it to your liking:
- Double Chocolate Mint – Add a handful of sugar-free chocolate chunks along with the mint chips for extra indulgence.
- Thin & Crispy – Flatten the dough balls a bit more before baking if you prefer a crunchier cookie.
- Soft & Chewy – Keep them thicker for a fudgier bite.
- Frosted Finish – Spread a thin layer of sugar-free chocolate ganache over the cookies and sprinkle with crushed sugar-free mints for a bakery-style look.

Freezer-Friendly Treat
These cookies freeze beautifully, which is a lifesaver if you’re like me and want to have a stash of keto treats on hand. Simply place the cooled cookies in a single layer on a baking sheet, freeze for about an hour, then transfer them to a freezer bag or airtight container. They’ll keep for up to three months. When you’re ready to enjoy one, just let it thaw in the fridge or at room temperature.
A Personal Note on Chocolate & Mint
Baking these cookies brought me right back to being a kid in Canada, unwrapping that Laura Secord Frosted Mint bar and savouring the perfect mix of chocolate and mint. The nostalgia hits hard, but in the best way. Only now, I get to relive that same joy without the sugar crash or the guilt.
What I love most is sharing them with friends and family—even those who aren’t keto. Every time I serve these cookies, someone says, “Wait, these are sugar-free?!” That’s when I know I’ve nailed it. A good recipe shouldn’t taste like a compromise, and these Keto Chocolate Mint Cookies prove just that.

Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a keto dessert that’s equal parts nostalgic, indulgent, and satisfying, these Keto Chocolate Mint Cookies are it. They’re easy to make, freezer-friendly, and perfect for anyone who loves the refreshing kick of mint paired with rich chocolate. And with those ChocZero Peppermint Chips, they really do taste like a low-carb love letter to the Frosted Mint bar of my childhood.
So grab your almond flour, cocoa powder, and (most importantly) a bag of ChocZero mint chips, and whip up a batch. Just remember—you’ll need to chill them before digging in. That’s the hardest part of the whole recipe, but once you take that first fudgy, minty bite, you’ll agree it was worth the wait.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and set them to the side.
