This delicious and easy 5-Spice ginger pulled pork is easy to make. In a crockpot, pressure cooker or oven, this easy and tasty dish is keto-friendly and requires very little effort

  • Total Time: 1 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3-4 lbs pork loin
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 7.5 oz Zevia Sugar-Free Ginger Beer (can omit completely)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tsp ginger (2 inch piece, grated)
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup (I use Lakanto Maple Syrup which is sugar-free)
  • 4 tbsp coconut aminos (or soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp Chinese 5-spice seasoning
  • 1.5 tsp salt (and more to taste once meat has cooked)

Instructions

  1. Placed chopped onion on the bottom of the pot.  Add ginger beer (if using) to the pot and set aside.
  2. Divide pork into 4 even sections and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, combine garlic, maple syrup, coconut aminos, 5-Spice and salt.  Stir to combine and rub mixture over pork.  Place pork, fat side up, into baking dish.

Oven Method:

  • Place baking dish in 450 degree oven for 30 minutes.  Reduce temperature to 265 degrees F. and continue to cook for 6 (if you want to slice pork) to 8 (if you want pulled pork) hours, basting every so often

Slow Cooker Method:

  • Cook on high for 4 hours and on low for 8 hours.

Pressure Cooker Method

  • Place in pressure cooker and cook at 390 degrees F. for 40-50 minutes
