This Sugar-free Gin Southside Cocktail is a simple summer cocktail recipe with gin, mint, and citrus. A quick and easy sugar-free simple syrup is made and then only a quick shake later, a sugar-free cocktail is made!

Ingredients

For the Sugar-free Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/4 cup allulose
  • 1/8 tsp xanthan gum

For the Southside Cocktail:

  • 1 oz lime juice (or lemon juice)
  • 1 oz sugar-free simple syrup
  • 5 mint leaves

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water with 1 1/4 cup allulose.  Bring the mixture to a boil and remove from heat.  Whisk in 1/8 tsp xanthan gum and set the sugar-free simple syrup aside to cool fully and then place it in the fridge in an airtight container until ready to use.
  2. Add the mint leaves and lime juice (or lemon juice) into a shaker and gently muddle.  Add the gin and simple syrup and fill with ice.  Shake until well-chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or in a glass with a few ice cubes, and garnish with a mint leaf.
 

Notes

  • you will have too much simple syrup mixture - seal it in an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
