I bet you never thought you would ever hear the sentence "Healthy" Vanilla Protein Frosting, but now you can say you have! This low fat vanilla frosting is packed with protein powder and collagen to create a lusciously creamy vanilla-flavoured healthy frosting!

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 cup (approximately) 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup organic palm shortening
  • 2 - 4 tbps cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup vanilla casein or pea protein
  • 1/2 cup vanilla collagen powder
  • 1/2 -1 cup powdered sweetener
  • salt and vanilla extract to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the palm shortening with 1/2  cup collagen until it becomes soft and fluffy. (This provides the frosting with its creamy consistency without using traditional butter or margarine).
  2. Add in the casein and 2 tbsp of almond milk and beat until fully incorporated.  Taste the mixture and keep adding additional sweetener until desired sweetener is reached.Continue to add additional tablespoons of almond milk or sweetener. Depending on your protein powder, the consistency may vary, so adjust by adding a little more almond milk or protein powder to reach your desired thickness.
  3. Continue mixing until the frosting is creamy and spreadable. You can taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary by adding a bit more sweetener or vanilla extract.
