Ingredients
Scale
- 3-4 cups unsweetened coconut flakes (or any nuts or seeds of choice)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla (optional)
- stevia, cinnamon, sugar, honey...etc. (optional)
Instructions
- Place your ingredients in the bowl of a food processor (mine is an 8 cup processor).
- Turn on your food processor and let it run anywhere from 5-10 minutes depending on what ingredients you use, scrapping down the sides every 3 minutes.
- Turn off the food processor when the desired consistency has been achieved. Store butter in an air tight container and store on the shelf for 2-3 weeks. If not planning on using all the butter, transfer some to a container and place in the freezer. When ready to use, simply remove the container from the freezer and allow it to come to room temperature. If you are in a hurry, simply place sealed butter in a large bowl of hot water until it melts.
Notes
- If you have a very large food processore, you may need to add more nuts, seeds or coconut to the container and vice versa if your food processor is smaller.
- Be patient! At first, it does not look like right but eventually the nuts, seeds and coconut break down to form the butter.
