These Air Fryer Spicy Bay Scallops came together in minutes!  Make them in your air fryer (or on the stove-top!), either way, learning how to cook scallops could not be any easier! Plus, since they are Keto, Low Carb, Whole30 and Paleo-approved, these Air Fryer Spicy Bay Scallops can fit into any diet!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb bay scallops, thawed, washed and patted dry
  • 2 tbsp onion flakes
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast (can omit)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp of olive oil

Instructions

Prepare the Scallops

  1. Thaw the scallops.  Pat the scallops dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the scallops with olive oil and spice mix until well combined.

For Air Fryer Method:

  1. Spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil or olive oil.  Preheat the air fryer at 375 degrees F. for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the scallops to the air fryer basket.  Cook for 5-7 minutes, shaking the air fryer basket half way through.

For the Pan Fried Method:

  1. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat the skillet on medium high heat.  Once the pan is hot, add the scallops in a single layer in skillet for 5-6 minutes, turning scallops half way through cooking time.
